Along with KCCI-TV 8, weather equipment is installed throughout Iowa at schools and obtains and disseminates real-time weather data via the Internet. This data is also used in the classroom to teach science, math and meteorology.

CIPCO helps underwrite this weather education site for students, teachers and parents and is complete with lesson plans and quizzes. This program is designed for grades 2 through 12.

Character Counts!
CIPCO and its member systems partner with the Institute for Character Development to facilitate character and ethics training within the communities served by our member electric cooperatives. Character Counts! is the nation's most widely used framework for character development.

Safe Electricity
Safe Electricity is a nationally recognized, multi-media public awareness program designed to compliment the existing safety-education activities of utilities and educators. Safe Electricity provides information through radio and television public service announcements, news releases and articles as well as its comprehensive website which hosts "Electric Universe" and "Electrical Safety World" all dedicated to promoting electrical safety and efficiency.

Discovery Kits
The Touchstone Energy® Cooperatives and Discovery Channel® have teamed up to offer a unique education tool that conveys a real-world understanding of the power and purpose of electricity, as well as the important role of electric cooperatives in bringing power to rural America. The Get Charged! curriculum kits and this initiative enable our member systems to demonstrate their commitment to communities they serve while providing an effective educational program about electricity and rural electrification. This program is designed for grades 5 through 9.

Touchstone Energy® Kids Zone
Learning about energy has never been this fun and easy! The Touchstone Energy® Kids Zone is a cool place where you can learn about electricity, energy savings and electrical safety. The site also includes some fun games and activities that will help you learn about energy and energy efficiency, as well as lots of information to share with family and friends.
