CIPCO takes the role of environmental stewardship very seriously.  For decades, CIPCO has been making investments in new technology for our electric generation and transmission systems to reduce the environmental impact. We have a long history of environmental compliance as well as an internal audit program that has long ensured our accountability and responsibility in the environmental arena.  We maintain air emission permits for all of our emission sources and abide by the permit requirements.  The same holds true for the water resources that we use.  

CIPCO employees work closely with environmental regulators on local, State, and Federal levels.  We take pride in the relationships that we’ve developed with regulators over the years.  These working relationships are a partnership in environmental protection and CIPCO will continue to participate in the regulatory process and follow all applicable environmental regulations.

Walter Scott Energy Center #4 utilizes the latest environmental air quality control system with state-of-the-art pollution controls to keep emissions in check.
