CIPCO Business Development Manager Cheri Guckenberger has received certification as an Economic Development Finance Professional (EDFP) from the National Development Council.  Cheri successfully completed an intensive series of four week-long training courses and written reviews as well as completing a comprehensive examination to qualify for certification.  The training courses covered credit analysis, real estate financing, loan packaging, deal structuring and negotiating, and the creation and implementation of development programs.
 
The New York-based National Development Council is a private non-profit corporation, which specializes in training and technical assistance for economic and housing development.  Established in 1972, the Council has provided training to approximately 50,000 development professionals nationally.  Participants come from a variety of backgrounds including city and state governments, public agencies, community-based organizations, professional organizations, financial institutions, and private businesses.
 
Cheri is a member of Professional Developers of Iowa and the National Rural Economic Development Association.
