KCCI-TV School Net - Along with KCCI-TV 8, weather equipment is installed throughout Iowa at schools and obtains and disseminates real-time weather data via the Internet. This data is also used in the classroom to teach science, math and meteorology.

The Super Energy Saver Classroom Kits are designed for school age children grades K-5 including materials to teach students about electricity, electrical safety, energy savings, and renewable energy. The program is designed for teachers or cooperative staff to present to children. The children learn how to become “Super Energy Savers” by taking a checklist, and with the help of their parents, walking through their home to identify energy saving practices. |

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and The Advertising Council have launched a series of PSAs starring Tinker Bell. Developed by The Walt Disney Studios, the new PSAs featuring Tinker Bell are designed to educate 8-10 year olds on how to save energy. Included on this site are videos, games, puzzles, coloring pages, Energy Smart School activity book and other resources. Additional information includes tips on energy efficient behaviors and ways to learn about new technological advances to reduce energy consumption. |
